Liam is 2 Years Old!

New Things I Can Do: Put on my shoes by myself; drop-kick (volley) a ball; make "silly" sounds; help wash the dishes; run extra fast.

New Words:  I love saying "knee", "Grace", "more!"

Favourite Animal: Ducks

Friends I see often:  Amy, Megan, Oliver, Eva

Favourite Hobbies: Playing with balls (kicking, throwing, everything to do with them!), reading books, and singing and dancing (my favourite song at the moment is Old Macdonald!).

Foods I like:  Just had my first taste of cake and I kept saying, more! More! More!

How I celebrated my 2nd Birthday: I had a couple of friends over for snack time with cake.  I was so excited to blow out my candles, I wouldn't let Poppa try to blow them out!  I got a Mickey Mouse balloon and we all wore Mickey Mouse ears.   And on Mother's Day, I had a second family birthday party at Nana's and Poppa's. 

Grace is 3 Months Old!

New Things I Can Do:  I try to reach for my dangling toys off my chair; I'm staying awake longer and love staring at the pictures on the wall; I love looking at the magnets on the refrigerator.   I've started to sleep more in my cot upstairs and I sleep the whole night upstairs now.  I've also begun settling myself down to sleep without making any fuss and can go a night without crying!

Funny Noises I Make:  I've started to make cooing sounds. 

I smile when... My brother Liam leans in really close to me and makes faces.  I also smile when Mommy and Daddy smile at me.

Cute Things I Do:  Always twisting my neck one way (I quite like looking over my left shoulder).  I love being held over the shoulder and can settle down quickly in that position.  I also love looking in the mirror!

My Feeding patterns:  I know drink every 4 hours and am fully breastfed.  I love to eat and can take up to an hour a feed!  When Mommy feeds me, she is often reading Liam and I a story. 

My Favourite Lullabies:  Gracie Gracie (sung to the tune of Daisy, Daisy) and Little Gracie We Love You (sung to the tune of Mary Had A Little Lamb).

Here I am stuck between all these toddlers who keep trying to poke at me!

Here I am enjoying the rug that Grandpa hooked for me.  It's so comfy to sit on!

Here I am enjoying pancakes for Pancake Day.  Poor Grace can't have any yet.

I'm becoming quite good at entertaining myself whilst Mommy is feeding Grace.  I've started to become really good at putting together puzzles.

Visit with our cousins

Trying to get our cousin Max to pose was a big of a toughie!  It was great fun visiting Nana and Poppa's with all the children around!

Grace at 2 months!

Things I can do:  I can follow objects with my eyes; I love drinking my milk!  I love watching my brother Liam when he comes up close.

Funny noises I make: when I'm content during a feed, I make little moans. 

I cry when:  I'm hungry!  When I'm not in anybody's arms.  When my brother startles me with his loud noises!

How my parents keep me quiet:  Daddy puts his pinky finger into my mouth.  Mommy sings to me while holding me tightly in her arms.  Mommy and Daddy sing "little Gracie we love you" and "Gracie, Gracie (to the tune of Daisy, Daisy."

Funny Things I do:  Falls asleep at the drop of a hat when bounced and carried in her carseat.

How I've Been Sleeping:  Quite well from midnight to 6:30am.  I have naps during the day in my moses basket despite Liam and his friends running around me.

January Fun

Our friend Verity took a family photo of us.  I didn't mind at all posing on my car.  Even Gracie was behaving herself and wasn't screaming too much!

Here I am having tummy time.  I still like lying on my tummy, especially when I'm pressed up against somebody else!

This is my first "real" outfit.  I had to practise keeping on my socks.  Daddy was able to change my nappy in this outfit no problem.  But I say "good luck" when I'm going to start wearing tights!

Here I am playing with Davina and Verity.  They came over and spent the night helping out Mommy entertain Grace and I. 

I still love playing in the bath--especially splashing Daddy!

My first real play in the snow.  Well, sort of.  I watched Mommy build a mini Frosty but I wasn't too interested touching nor walking on snow.  I was a bit weary of the snow. 

I've had many friends over this week.  We've been making a real racket!  Here I am with my friend Oliver.

Christmas

It was an amazing Christmas.  I slept in a bit so that Mommy and Daddy could have some rest after being up most of the night with Grace.  When I finished breakfast, I noticed that Santa Claus had left some presents underneath the tree for us to open.  I was so excited and loved unwrapping all the gifts.  Of course, I wanted to play with each toy immediately!

The stocking which Grandma made for me is bigger than I am!  Hope my brother Liam doesn't kick me!

Best part of dinner for me was not the food (I didn't touch it!) but the Christmas cracker!

I enjoyed Christmas day too, although I spent most of the day sleeping and eating.  Liam running around me doesn't bother me at all!
