Daddy's Birthday

On Daddy's birthday, we were excited to see a hot balloon pass by with a happy birthday sign on it--what perfect timing!

Grace is 8 Months Old!

New Things I Can Do:  I can now roll over from my back to my tummy--but only when I want to!  I can now bounce up and down on my legs when held--that's why I'm loving the jumperoo and my dj toy at the moment!  I now only have 2 naps during the day but I sleep from 7pm to 7 am.   I talk a lot--a do some "ba..ba..." sounds.  I no longer mind playing on my tummy and I love hitting musical balls and cubes around.  Everything goes in my mouth--including my toes!  I sit up by myself now so I can eat in almost any kind of highchair. I really interact now with Liam---he makes me laugh so much! 

My Favourite Books:  The Big Night Night Book, Dr. Seuss' The Places You'll Go--but I much prefer eating books to reading them!

My Friends:  Molly --and a whole bunch of 2 year olds!

Funny Things I Do: I'm smiling and laughing all the time during baths.  I go wild trying to get hold of things--playing with my curtain and muslins!  I'm also always moving in my highchair--never looking at the person who is feeding me and shaking my head "dancing" side to side. I love playing outside and trying to "get" Liam.  

Foods I Like:  I like everything!  In fact, I've gained almost a kg in a month!

Foods I Dislike:  There hasn't really been anything I've disliked yet!  I eat everything and can't get enough!   However, I pulled very silly faces when I ate raspberries for the first time.  I'm not too fond feeding myself--and prefer to be fed by someone with a spoon!

Grace is 7 months old!

New Things I Can Do:  I'm reaching out and grabbing EVERYTHING, including my brother.  I can now eat food!  When I'm placed on my tummy, I keep on rolling over onto my back.  I can sit up for a few seconds on my own.

My Favourite Toys:  I love chewing on my Sophie the giraffe. I like playing with the bag of cotton wool when I'm getting my nappies changed.  I love the rattle on Captain Calamari.

Games I Like To Play:  I like trying to "get" Liam.  I love playing in the bath and splashing.  I like playing peek-a-boo and shaking rattles.

Places I've Been To:  Wessex Gardens Summer Fair, Golders Hill Park, Moneyhole park for picnics. 

I Laugh When...:  someone chases/follows me up the stairs; when I watch Liam playing; when my tummy is kissed and when someone says "boo!" at me.

Cute Things I Do:   When I want to go into someone's arms, I lean forward and really reach towards them.  I like Poppa's singing (the only one in the family who does)!  I blow raspberries all the time, trying to talk to everybody. 

I First Tried Solids:  When I was 6 and a half months old. 

What I Thought Of Them:  I've loved everything I've tried.  I love being in my highchair as now I can get a good look at what Liam is doing!  I love my bibs too!  I found yogourt a little too cold at first.  I really like my fruit (apples and pears) and even like spinach!  My clothes have gotten a bit dirty from all the spitting up I've been doing afterwards though!

Some Firsts...

 

I love bouncing on my new trampoline....fingers crossed there won't be any major accidents (aside from Mom's fingers from stretching the bungee cord to twice its size)!

Playing peekaboo

I went to my Auntie Helen's house and fell in love with her cuckoo clock.  At Nana's, I decided to re-enact the Cuckoo clock song from the Sound of Music (So long, farewell....) and banged my head on the wall....which made me go to A &E for the first time for a wound.  Luckily, I survived! 

I've finally grown into my stylish summer outfits.

I'm really loving playing with all my toys now.

Here I am in my new highchair for the first time.  My chair matches Liam's.  Finally, I get to see up close what they are all doing up here at the table!

Here I am having my first taste of food--baby rice, yum yum!  I loved it and couldn't get enough of it!  Bonus was playing with the spoon!

Mom and I built a house out of a box---and I did lots of colouring on it.






 

Spring is Here!
