All Better Now!

To celebrate my return to good health, Mommy and Daddy took me to Golders Hill Park.

I was so excited to be there.  Waving at every airplane, doggie and bird that passed me by.  I also got the chance to see some new animals, like lemurs and deer.  I still prefer all the birds best of all!

Playing with Daddy's glasses and putting them back on a bit wonky!
So excited to see the animals!
Look Granny--I saw a donkey!

What a big bird!

After looking at all the animals, I went to the park to play on the slide and swings.  I'm now trying to go down the slide by myself but Daddy still holds on!

Then, at the end of the day we walked to Hampstead where I had to wait an hour for Mommy and Daddy to get their crepes!

An Unhappy Easter

My 2nd Easter was one to remember.  I woke up very early and before Mommy got up, I threw up on my Easter bunny and lamb!  All this before even having the chance to taste chocolate!

Mommy and Daddy cheered me up by letting me open my Easter present--a new bowl, plate and spoons.

As the day continued, I felt worse and worse.  I didn't even want to move around anymore.  And can you believe it, not even touch any of my food or toys?!

The next day, I continued to be sick so many times.  Mom and Dad brought me to the GP--and I ended up being sick there!  The doctor was so worried that I was dehydrated that he told Mom and Dad to bring me to the hospital.

I was seen within 5 minutes and was given a lovely bed to lie on, if only I could enjoy it.  Most of the time all I wanted to do was sleep in my Daddy's arms.  The nurses were very nice though--and kept me entertained by blowing bubbles.

I'm home now and am on the mend.  I'm still very clingy--and I cry a lot when I'm home.  The only things that are distracting me are walks and playing with the housekeys.

Here I am dozing in the hospital--holding onto a syringe.
Tomorrow, Mommy says I can have some milk again and perhaps some real food.  Can't wait!

Spring Is Here!

Last Spring, when I was born, it was unseasonably warm.  Likewise, this year.  All week, it's been sunny and hot.  Mommy must shop for some summer clothes for me.

Yesterday was Daddy's last day of work before Easter holidays.  To celebrate, he ended school early and took me to Trent Park with Mommy.  A year ago, it was the first park I visited.

Mommy took advantage of the nice weather and made me sit for a photo shoot.  I was much more interested in the buses, doggies and birds in the park.  I even got to see my first squirrels!

So, for my photo shoot, Mommy plopped me down amongst the daffodils.  I did my very best not to eat the grass and flowers and to stay still.  I didn't smile too much as I was in a bit of a shock of how large the flowers were---they were the same height as me!

Afterwards, we went to Nana and Poppa's for dinner where I got to play on their new deck.

NCT at 1!

Today, I went to my friend Amy's house.  All my friends from my NCT group were meeting there for a joint birthday party.  We've all just turned 1 or will be turning 1 in the next couple of weeks.

Since it was such a beautiful day, we enjoyed the party outside.  I even tasted my first barbecue chicken--and loved it!

I got the chance to crawl around on the grass.
Playing with the grass got me so excited, it would make me bounce up and down on my knees.

Trying to get all 4 of us to sit still was not the easiest of tasks.
We exchanged gifts---and of course, was more interested in each other's gifts than the ones that we had in our hands.
We blew out a candle each on the cake that Mommy baked.  My candle was like a trick candle---it would not go out!

Amy and I took turns riding on the bike in circles outside.  It was better than riding on ponies!

It was such a great day catching up with everybody.  I can't believe we're all getting so old!

Bye Bye Grandma!

I've been so lucky to have Grandma come see me.  She came out of the computer and right into my house.

Grandma told me the reason she came was to celebrate my first birthday with me.

Grandma got me saying "Boom" and "Bam!"

And I would wake up Grandma every morning by crawling on her bed and playing.
Grandma even introduced me to one of my new favourite treats--Cheerios!

When Grandma went back to Canada, I would point to her bed and look for her underneath the pillows.  I sure did have lots of fun with Grandma.  Guess I'll have to go on the computer to see her again.

My First Birthday Party

Mommy woke me up from my morning nap, and got me dressed into my party clothes.  After I quickly had some milk, my party guests started to arrive.

When I was eating my lunch, I kept on being distracted by the helium balloon attached to my highchair.

Mom made me put on this hat!

Mommy baked a maple and pecan cake for the adults, along with some chocolate cupcakes.  For me and my other baby friends, she made banana muffins.

As more guests came, the more I got excited.  I was cruising everywhere---and even went outside to play on the grass.  The weather was perfect!

So, I had a wonderful time at my first birthday party.  I wish it could be my birthday, every day!

My Birthday

Daddy woke me up and sang me Happy Birthday.  He also held up one finger and told me that I was now 1 years old!

Mommy and Grandma took me out to lunch at Sainsbury's cafe.  I had a great time, watching everybody eat their lunches.  I especially liked stealing Grandma's cheerios--a new favourite!

After Mommy finished making my cake, she let me lick the beaters!

Here I am eating my lunch in Sainsbury's.

When Daddy came home at the end of the day, I began opening my presents.  It sure looks like I'll be keeping busy over the next couple of months.

Happy that Daddy came home early from work.

Here I am trying to look cool

And deep in thought...

Truth be told, I'm just as happy with a box or wrapping.

Skyping with Grandpa and Annabelle while opening my present.

After opening all my presents, Daddy told me that I had one more left.  Then, he wheeled around the corner my first trike.  Boy, did I go crazy.  I wanted to climb up onto it right away.  When Daddy pushed me around on my trike in the backyard, I starting waving wildly.  Mommy and Grandma joked that it looked like I was the Queen waving from her carriage.

Loving my trike!

I ate a lovely birthday dinner--salmon fishcakes!  For dessert, Mommy brought a cake for me...a banana cupcake topped with whipped cream!  I made a real mess!

I was fascinated by this new light--fire!

Enjoying my cake.

Boy, did I enjoy my first birthday.  Especially my cake---perhaps a little too much.  It gave me a tummy ache and I threw up later on that night!  Next time, I'll skip the whipped cream.
